Pumpkin Decorating Contest Rules

Get ready for some festive fun! Here’s everything you need to know to enter and enjoy our second annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest at Chico Marketplace.

Key Dates:

Registration Opens: September 11, 2026
Pumpkin Drop-Off Deadline: October 5, 2026
Voting Begins: October 7, 2026
Voting Completes: October 22, 2026
Display Ends: October 31, 2026
Optional Pickup: Take your pumpkin home after our Costume Contest event on October 24th.

Entry Guidelines:

Participants must provide their own pumpkins.
Pumpkins may be real, plastic, or homemade.
No carving or puncturing of real pumpkins is allowed (to prevent rotting).
If you have questions about what qualifies as a pumpkin entry, please email lynette@ethanconradprop.com
Pumpkins must not exceed 2 feet in diameter (height or width).
All entries will be displayed in a mall window during the voting period.
Submit your decorated pumpkin to mall management by October 5, 2026.

Voting Details:

Voting begins October 7, 2025.
Vote in person at the mall by scanning the QR code on display signage.
Each pumpkin will have a unique number, that’s how you cast your vote.
The top 5 pumpkins with the most votes will win!

Important Reminders:

All designs must be family friendly.
No political content.
Scary pumpkins are allowed, but no offensive imagery or language will be accepted.
Pumpkins will remain on display through October 31st unless you choose to pick yours up after our Costume Contest on October 24th.

Prizes:

Winners will receive gift cards to Dick’s Sporting Goods or JCP:

1st Place – $200
2nd Place –$150
3rd Place – $100
4th Place – $75
5th Place – $50

Votes will be tallied by Chico Marketplace Management, and all decisions are final.
